Belle Vie Gardens

Wildflower School is intimately connected with Belle Vie Farm. Each is reliant on the other to prosper and grow.  The gardens at Belle Vie Farm, opening Summer 2018, will be community-based gardens. Families, students and teachers in our school community will nurture the gardens from seeding to sowing throughout the year. We will use our bounty to nourish the school community and the larger community of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Pittsboro and Durham.

In addition to Wildflower's gardens, Belle Vie Farm will offer space for community members to garden together. Our goal is to unite the community through working the land, connecting with animals and embracing nature.

Belle Vie Farm exists to support the greater community. Belle Vie also exists to be one piece of the pie in Wildflower's self-supporting school approach. A self-supporting school like Wildflower seeks to maintain or reduce tuition each year, increase scholarship offerings to ensure a wide socio-economic family base and achieve its goal of supporting families by offering high quality education at a reasonable cost.

Some of the crops we will raise in 2018 include:

Sorrel

Kale

Spinach

Swiss Chard

Strawberries

Cucumbers

Beans

Gourds

Pumpkins
